Glenn Adams (KD4TLC) called the meeting to order
at: 7:00 p.m.
Glenn asked everyone to introduce themselves
Glenn spoke about the technician’s class. There
are 7 new technicians as a result of the class.
David Hook gave the treasurer’s report.
We have verbal confirmation of our reservation to
use the Farmer’s Market for our Swap Fest on December 3, 2005.
Milton Rice suggested that we start putting
information on the
http://www.gaarc.com website about the upcoming Swap Fest. Glenn
asked for volunteers to form a Swap Fest committee. The committee
members are: Keith Deal (KG4RVP), Mark Fox (KM1FOX), Milton Rice
(KC4YOT), Paul Williams (K4PJW), and Glenn Adams (KD4TLC).
Glenn asked everyone to provide suggestions to the
DVR committee on phrase ideas for the repeater.
The club will work with ARES on Field Day. Field
Day will be held at Gaston College again this year on June 25-26, 2005.
ARES has asked the club to provide some food donations towards Field
Day. Glenn asked the Field Day committee to give a list at the next
meeting.
Glenn asked everyone to decide which design to use
for our club logo. A design was chosen (with a few modifications).
Mark Fox will make the modifications and have a proof for the next
meeting.
There are approximately 500 Amateur Radio Operators
in Gaston County. Glenn strongly encouraged everyone to visit a club
meeting, an ARES meeting, or to at least get involved. Please make any
guest you hear on the repeater feel welcome.

the majority) to extend an offer to any new licensees $10.00 for a GAARC
