Glenn spoke about the way that Westfield Mall has
been handling use of the Community Room by non-profit organizations.
Glenn asked everyone if they (as a club) would like to continue to meet
here or would rather move to another location. A motion was made
to investigate the situation in more detail, then we will make a final
decision next month. The motion was passed.
Glenn asked everyone to introduce themselves
Glenn gave a report on K3GTE (Gene). He
sounds much better.
David Hook (KE4GES) gave the Treasurer’s Report.
We had a successful year in 2004.
We will need a different backup repeater. The
one we had is not
operational and will cost too much to fix. There two other
repeaters that are available to the club, plus another repeater in
Indian Trail which we will get back so we can try to repair. A motion was made to
purchase new crystals for both of the repeaters that will be
interchangeable. After discussion, the
motion was passed.
We now have good news on the Gastonia Farmer's
Market. We should have approval for our 2005 Swap-Fest at their
next meeting.
Last year GAARC & ARES worked together on a joint
Field Day. Do we want to do another joint venture this year with
ARES or do our own thing? A motion was made to accept the
invitation to join ARES, should the invitation come. The motion
was passed.
The next Technician's Class starts on Tuesday,
February 15, 2005 at the Emergency Operations Center on Highland Street.
