January 5^th, 2006

The meeting was called to order at 7 PM by the group’s new president Paul Williams.

David Hook gave a treasurer’s report followed by an update on how well the group did on the 2005 Swap feast.   

Next the group was given an update on the new AREAS leaders, which are as follows

Keith Deal as EC

Scott Weaver as Assistant EC

Paul Williams as Secretary

Margaret Huddleston as Treasure

Gene Marshall as Sky Warn Coordinator

Applications for New members to the GAARC received at the Swapfest are as follows

Scott Weaver, Barney Huddleston, and Jeff Wells all three were voted in as new members.  Welcome and Congratulations to all the new members.

The group was asked to think about a location for field day.  It was stated the some place with a lot of public access would really be a better choice if the group could find one.

The Topic for the meeting was:  Basic Wireless Networking Security the speaker for tonight’s meeting is Don Wankel.

The group talked about the Tech class that is starting on Saturday Feb 4^th from 10 am to 1Pm @ the EOC building. A light snack will be provided at the classes.

A group will be going up to Whetstone on Saturday January 14^th and to Crowder’s on that Monday the 16^th
.

The group needs to form two committees one for DVR and a Repeater committee for scheduled maintenance, repeater announcements.
