Glenn mentioned the Technician Class that Gaston
County ARES is offering at the EOC on Tueday's. A total of 15
students are attending at this time, including 5 youth.
The backup repeater has been on the air a few times
for testing purposes. There are still some adjustments to be made.
A suggestion was made to put the backup repeater on the air for a few
hours each week so that it can get some use and burn in the crystals.
It was decided to use the backup repeater on Sunday's.
The mall is now charging a few to use the Community
Room and advanced registration is not permitted. There has been
some problems with this process pending further discussion between Glenn
and the Mall's Manager. We will discuss this further at our next
meeting.
Glenn wants to put the vocabulary for the DVR on
our website. Please look at the list and send your suggestions to
the repeater committee.
Gaston County ARES and the GAARC will host a Field
Day at Gaston College during the last weekend in June.
We need to get a banner for the club with our name
on to use at events (Field Day, Swap Fest, etc...) Cost will be
around $84.00
On Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. the NC ARES
will present "Geologic Hazards of the Carolina". It will originate
on the Tar Heel Emergency Net at 3923 kHz (LSB) and will be broadcast
simultaneously on the club repeater at 146.805
KG4ENT (Pam Huffstetler) went silent key on
Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. Please remember Mike

He talked about the Controller on the 146.805 repeater on Crowder's
Mountain.
